East Devon District Council has reopened its headquarters in Honiton today after Coronavirus fears emerged following a staff member's return from Italy.

A 'deep clean' took place at Blackdown House over the weekend and today staff members have returned to work.

The staff member who returned from Italy is now in isolation but is not believed to be showing Coronavirus symptoms.

East Devon District Council also told Nub News that the member of staff has not been working in a public facing role.

A spokesperson for East Devon District Council said: "We have completed the cleaning of Blackdown House in line with Government guidelines and can confirm that the offices will reopen on Monday, March 9, at 8.30am.

"We are awaiting test results on an employee who returned from Italy, although they are not displaying Coronavirus symptoms they will remain in isolation."

More information and advice on Coronavirus (COVID-19) can be found on the Gov.uk website.
