Following the results of the local elections, Conservative candidate Cllr Phil Twiss was re-elected to represent Honiton and Feniton at Devon County Council.

Honiton Nub News contacted Mr Twiss to ask how he felt about the election results and what he plans for the coming four years.

He responded: "As we emerge from the ravages of the Covid-19 epidemic I was very pleased that the recent set of elections including the Devon County Council was able to take place and the democratic process could take place at Parish, Town, District and County level.

"I am particularly delighted to have been elected as the Devon County Council Division member for Feniton and Honiton and will continue to represent the interest of all constituents in the Division for the next four years.

"My focus will be helping to rebuild the economy post Covid, improving opportunity for younger people who are the future of our county and improving social and health care services locally."

He went on to add: "From a personal perspective, I think it was particularly good to see so many younger people standing for election, some of who were successful.

"For those who weren't this time, I would encourage them to stay involved in the 'debate' and take an active role in expressing their point of view and making their voice heard with their local council and councillors."
