Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses after large amounts of precious items were stolen from a church in Sidmouth.

It comes in the same week that Combe Garden Centre suffered from a break-in and Devon and Cornwall Police issued a number of warnings to residents in East Devon.

The incident took place at Sidmouth Parish Church between 7pm on Sunday 19 March and 8.30am on Monday 20 March. The Combe Garden Centre was broken into the day after the church.

Police say a 'vast' amount of precious items were stolen. A safe was also broken into and around £1,000 was taken. It appears that the robbery was well-planned.

A large amount of silverware was taken and the police would like to hear from anyone who is offered these items in the coming days and weeks. If you live nearby, please check CCTV, dashcam or video doorbell footage to see if anything suspicious has been captured.

If you have any information, you can contact police here or by calling 101 and quoting reference 50230064511.
