Principle Environmental Health Officer - Honiton

Salary: £36,876 - £40,760 per annum.

Position: Permanent, full-time.

About the role:

We are seeking a Principal Environmental Health Officer to lead and manage our Environmental Protection team.

You will be responsible for providing an effective and comprehensive, customer-focused service in accordance with legislation and agreed service standards acting as lead officer for Environmental Protection matters.

Skills required:

  • You must possess an in-depth understanding of the effective application of related legislation and enforcement processes and be qualified, as a minimum, to the equivalent of Environmental Health Officer level – ideally you will be a member of the CIEH.

  • In addition, you will hold and ILM level 5 or equivalent qualification in management or have equivalent experience.

  • Recent experience of delivering a similar service; managing and motivating a team; and reviewing, developing, implementing and monitoring environmental health policy and strategy are also essential.

  • You will also be adept at utilising technology for service delivery and able to make timely and confident decisions on complex matters as well as having excellent communication and influencing skills.

Recovery Worker - Honiton

Salary: £18,685 - £23,230 per annum.

Position: Permanent, full-time.

About the role:

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, Recovery Workers deliver an integrated service through the provision of comprehensive and ongoing assessment, recovery planning, appropriate referral/linkage and psychosocial interventions for substance misuse.

Skills required:

  • Ideally, you'll have experience working in a similar role, including undertaking assessments and delivering a range of evidence based substance misuse psychosocial interventions in 1:1 and group-work settings.

  • You'll have a good understanding of group working and group dynamics, and will be able to demonstrate competent group work facilitation skills.

  • You'll be comfortable dealing with the emotional content of sessions and constructively challenging the behaviours you see. Some knowledge and understanding of mental health issues would be helpful.
