A popular Honiton pet store is reopening today following a burglary, which left the premises unfit for customers.

Slades on Heathpark Industrial Estate was targeted by thieves over the weekend, who broke in and robbed money along with certain items of stock.

Owners Peter and Sarah Scott-Allen received a huge amount of support from the community and have managed to get the shop back in order more quickly than anticipated.

They said: "Initially we were in shock, but managed to get ourselves together and are pleased to be welcoming customers back today.

"We wanted to say thank you for all the kind words of support we received from members of the community. It really motivated us and helped us stay positive."
