Honiton: 7-year-old Daisy has raised over £800 for children’s charity

By Kate Baxter 31st Aug 2022

Seven-year-old Daisy Thomas-Still has completed a series of impressive challenges to raise money for the charity When you Wish Upon a Star.

Last Christmas, Daisy mentioned to her mum Natasha that she wanted to keep her advent calendar and do something else with it. Daisy thought about what she could use it for, and decided to put different challenges behind each door to complete on a daily basis, and raise money for doing them.

For 25 days this summer Daisy completed a different challenge.

The challenges included a village litter pick, 100 sit ups, 3 hr bounceathon, 200 burpee's, alphabet object challenge, 3 hour danceathon, camping out with friends, learning to say hello in eight different languages, mountain boarding, learn to say the longest word in the English dictionary, driving or riding three different modes of transport, balloon modelling, 10,000 steps in one day, a sponsored silence and a 30-mile bike ride!

Her final challenge was a 2-mile swim.

Daisy's little brother, Elliot (aged 4) has also taken part in some of the challenges.

Daisy carefully considered which charity to support before she chose When you Wish Upon a Star. The charity grants wishes to children aged between 4- 17 who are living with a life threatening condition.

Daisy said: "I want to help make a dream come true for a child, I want to make them smile, I want to help their family smile and to be able to make memories together."

Daisy has set up a JustGiving page to collect donations.
