Honiton Carers enjoy 'buzz' of online craft sessions

Honiton Carers enjoyed another arts and crafts session yesterday (Jan 27), hosted online with a professional tutor guiding members on glass painting.
Due to restrictions preventing physical meetings, Honiton Carers have taken their activities into the virtual world, to ensure that full-time carers get some much-needed respite – especially important now, with many in isolation.
Gillian Beckman-Findlay from Coastal Craft Collective runs the workshops, which are conducted using a professional version of Zoom.
The sessions are paid for with money from the Tesco Covid Grant and Co-op Community Funding, which also ensures members are supplied with everything they need for the creative workshops beforehand.
Chair of Honiton Carers, Winnie Cameron said: "Gillian guided us through each stage of glass painting in a very professional manner.
"The room was buzzing with a great atmosphere and we all had a good laugh about the mess most of us managed to make."
