The deadline to apply for a grant from Honiton Town Council to support community organisations is tomorrow (Jan 29).

The town council has pledged to help local groups by agreeing financial support and allocating more money than budgeted.

This is to provide extra help for local organisations struggling financially because of the impact of Covid-19.

Councillor Phil Carrigan said: "It's essential that the town council helps where it can, so allocating more money than was budgeted in February 2020, is the right thing to do – additional money will be taken from council reserves."

To continue financial support, Honiton Town Council is taking the unusual step of requesting other bids for 2020/21 Grants to be submitted by Friday 29 January 2021 for its consideration on 8 February 2021.

Grants requested should be in accordance with the town council's grant policy and can be submitted by completing the application form on the council website linked here.
