Honiton Carers Support Group very much enjoyed the hospitality of the Honiton Co-op Store in Lace Walk - managed by Kathryn Baker - on Thursday 21 November.

The Carers Group was celebrating three occasions - Carers Rights Day, 'The Big Co-op Pay out' for local causes covering the period ending October 2019, which awarded the Carers Group a final payment of £2115.70 and being selected as a named charity for the coming year.

The money funded a trip to Roadford Lake for 31 carers by coach and the rest will go towards the Carers Christmas lunch at the Blue Ball Inn.

For many, this will be their only Christmas lunch out.

The Carers Group also celebrated having been chosen for the forthcoming 12 months as one of the Co-op's three causes, this time to pay for the Carers Group Arts & Crafts project commencing January 2020.

The Carers Group is immensely grateful to the Co-op and all their customers who voted for us.

Honiton Carers Support Group would like to thank Kathryn Baker and all her staff for welcoming us so warmly today as well Sally Ann Thomas the Co-op Members Pioneer who travelled quite some distance to be with us.

Last but not least, we would like to thank all our volunteers who helped to fundraise today and generally support us.
