Honiton Carers enjoy train trip to Axminster

Honiton Carers had a wonderful "Walk & Chat" trip to Axminster on Wednesday 17th May by train thanks to a Connecting You Grant.
Devon County Council has been awarded funding through The Department for Transport for a "tackle loneliness with transport" fund.
The Connecting You Community Grant Fund has provided grants to projects and organisations like Honiton Carers Support Group to help connect people to enjoy activities that help tackle loneliness and isolation.
We caught the train from Honiton to Axminster, walked to the town and ended up at the wonderful Waffle House where we all enjoyed one of their brilliant waffles and a cuppa.
What a great experience that was a first for us all. The Waffle House is a great Community Hub with so many different facilities.
The food was fabulous and the service excellent. We had a great time and would highly recommend the experience.
Thank you to Devon County Council for making our Connecting You "Walk & Chats" possible we have enjoyed them all tremendously.
