Honiton Carers welcome new members after Co-op awareness day

We spent Saturday at Honiton Co-op spreading awareness of unpaid carers and encouraging the Co-op customers to sign up for a Co-op card.

We are one of Honiton Co-op's 3 chosen causes for year 2022/2023 and benefit throughout the whole year, when customers with a Co-op card chose us as their charity.

We signed several carers up to receive ongoing support from Honiton Carers and made referrals to Devon Carers who we work very closely with for additional support.

We spoke with both existing and new carers and had some lovely conversations with people in the community, many just visiting Honiton for the day.

The Marks and Spencers mini Hamper raffle was won by Lyn on number 35. Lyn was thrilled to have won such a lovely prize, which was donated by Emma Healey from Way to Fitness.

We spent Sunday afternoon at the Old Rectory Awliscombe who opened their Garden, Eco Forest and Poly Tunnel to the public for the weekend in aid of Hospiscare. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the gardens, a cuppa and some delicious home made cakes.

Honiton Carers are lucky to visit The Studio at Creative Beings for Pottering with Plants and Art Craft on 4th Wednesday of each month.

If you are a carer and would like to join Honiton Carers please getting touch with Win on 07974 636926 or email [email protected].
