Honiton crowns its Carnival Royalty ahead of this weekend's big event

The Honiton Carnival Committee kicked-off Carnival week on Saturday morning with the crowning of Carnival Royalty during a sale in the Mackarness Hall.

Mr. Alan Rowe did the honours this year and crowned Sophia Long as this year's carnival royal.

Carnival week continues with Bingo on Wednesday (October 23) in the Mackarness Hall - all leading up to the main event on Saturday night. A reminder that the procession will start at 7.30 prompt.

During the whole of the week the popular Spot the Object competition will be running with many shops in the town taking part.

Entry forms are on sale in The Little Shop of Seasons for £1 each.

There is a cash prize for the winner, who will be announced on Guy Fawkes Night (5 November).
