A Honiton hairdressers has announced it will reopen on Saturday, 4 July and is inviting clients to get their appointments in early, as the waiting list will no doubt be long!

The business, which has been running in the town for 18 years, is following Government guidelines which have included hairdressers and barbers as part of phase three in the gradual easing of lockdown measures.

Business owner at Hunters Hair, Samantha Hunter, told Honiton Nub News that she was 'excited' to resume services at the salon and discussed some of the Covid-19 precautions she was taking to protect staff and clients.

"We have PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) packs as a mandatory requirement for anyone coming to get their hair done and we are adhering to social distancing by only allowing a limited number of people into the salon at any one time," Samantha explained.

"Since announcing that we will reopen next month, bookings have gone crazy. I'm trying to prioritise essential workers and loyal customers that I know are desperate to have to have their hair done.

"I've not even done my own hair to stand in with solidarity with my clients.

"Reopening is going to be like a reward for the fact we got through this difficult time.

"On a positive note, it's given us a rare opportunity to slow down; which doesn't often happen for hairdressers, as we tend to work 13-hour days."
