Honiton Primary School is trying to raise the funds to build a huge yurt which will from part of a new forest school, which will be used by the children and the wider community.
The forest school would eventually include full camp cooking and sanitary facilities and would help provide access to Honiton Primary School's woodland area.
Mr Tribble is the Headmaster of the school and he has set up a Just Giving fundraising page to help raise the money. They hope to raise £50,000. So far the school has raised £13,000, of which a substantial part came from the Angela Gallagher Memorial Fund.
Mr Tribble told Nub News: "Children love the woodland, and being outside. Too many children are growing up in their bedrooms. They have a busy and interactive day and school and when they get home they have a little interaction, before retreating to their bedrooms to do gaming. They spend too much time inside.
"This is the vaccine to that - giving them a chance to learn life skills outside, like building fires, or simply just playing. Eventually we'd love to be able to accommodation children overnight and give a completely different experience from what they are used to."
Honiton Primary School will make the complex available to scouts, cubs, guides, disabled groups and so on, as well as to other schools.
