Honiton Town Council has lost yet another member, with a councillor handing in their resignation following Monday's virtual meeting.
Nik Macve has stepped down from town council, having been co-opted on November of 2017 nearly three years ago.
She told Honiton Nub News: "I joined to make a positive contribution to the community.
"Having moved to Honiton six years ago, I wanted to become more involved with the town and thought a good place to start would be the council."
When asked her reason for leaving, she said: "We keep going around in circles and not getting anywhere. I think the chemistry might be wrong.
"I wish them all the best."
Mayor John Zarczynski said: "It's a shame to see Nik go.
"She was a very good Deputy Chair of the Planning Committee and I was looking forward to working with her on the proposed Park Project.
"Hopefully this is something she may be willing to stay involved with as a former councillor."
This brings the total number of vacancies at Honiton Town Council to eight.
Positions can only now be filled by going to election and not through co-option, due to the required number of ward members for both St Michael's and St Paul's in Honiton submitting written requests.
Coronavirus legislation rules that no elections are to be held until May 2021.
Throughout the course of this year, seven members have so-far resigned from Honiton Town Council, with the following 10 remaining:
- Mayor John Zarczynski
- Deputy Mayor Carol Gilson
- Cllr. Roy Coombs
- Cllr. Philip Carrigan
- Cllr. Luke Dolby
- Cllr. Caroline Kolek
- Cllr. Michelle Pollington
- Cllr. Jill McNally
- Cllr. John Taylor
- Cllr. Vera Howard
