On Tuesday 19 November at 7pm, Honiton Town Council will be hosting a public meeting on how to tackle our climate emergency.

It will also address other environmental issues, such as reducing single use plastics and biodiversity.

It was agreed at the full council meeting in August that Honiton Town Council would aim to make Honiton Carbon Neutral by 2030.

The main aim of this public meeting - which will initially be lead by Cllr James Wyatt, Cllr Michelle Pollington and Cllr Caroline Kolek - is to set up a Climate Action Working Group for Honiton.

The meeting will provide information on current initiatives in Devon helping to combat the climate emergency.

The public will also be asked for their views on what environmental issues concern them most and what solutions should be implemented.

Maximum participation will be encouraged from members of the public, local businesses and organisations.

The agenda is as follows:

1) Introduction presentation (10-15min) - where are we now and what more needs to be done.

2) Group discussions.

3) Setting up our Climate Action Working Group - terms of reference and next steps.
