Market Superintendent Lee Leppington is expecting an exciting Spring and Summer in Honiton as the market gets back into full swing after the winter period.

Honiton's street market has been quieter than usual as many market traders have taken some time off in the new year period.

Many have used the time to replenish their stocks, take a holiday or simply have a breather between the busy Christmas period and the even busier summer months!

The beginning of 2022 also saw a particularly large number of storms and weather warnings descend onto Honiton, which kept traders and customers at home.

However, Market Superintendent Lee (aged 55) is looking forward to a busy spring and summer.

He told Nub News: "As the weather improves, and with warmer, sunnier and longer days just around the corner, be assured that the traders will return and our busy, vibrant and friendly Market will be back with a variety of new and interesting stalls as well as many of its popular regular traders.

"To kick-start the Spring season there is a special Honiton Spring Market and Fun day taking place on Saturday 2 April.

"Why not come and see us? Bring your family and friends and enjoy your local Street Market, shops and all that they and Honiton have to offer."

At Saturday's Spring Market and Fun Day there will be live music, face painting and animals to meet!

Honiton's street market is on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. There are a variety of stalls including vegetable, books, bric-a-brac and food.
