The countdown to Christmas has officially begun and with seasonal decorations twinkling from shop windows and colourful light installations brightening up the town centre, Honiton's festivities are well underway.
Honiton Chamber of Commerce has been busy putting up the town's Christmas tree and it is hoped that this - combined with the decorations adorning the streets and shop premises - will instil confidence in consumers.
Chair of the Chamber, Paul Fudge said: "Although this is going to be a comparatively short shopping period, from now until Christmas Eve, Honiton has a lot to offer.
"Local business owners need as much support as possible and the only way we can do this is if we buy local.
"Not only is that important, but to have people out enjoying our High Street will encourage a sense of Christmas spirit in our great town.'
"Some of the shops and businesses in and around Honiton have chosen to use extended opening hours and with the advantage of £2 all day car parking, Honiton is the place to be."
