Latest crime figures show 34 violent and sexual offences took place in Honiton in July

The police have released the latest crime figures for Honiton.

There were 80 crimes reported in Honiton in July 2022, the latest month for which figures are available.

By way of comparison, in July 2021, 41 crimes took place.

In June 2022 there were 64 and in May there were 47.

It means that July's crime rate is just shy of the highest recent crime rate in any month, which was in May 2021 when 82 crimes took place.

The following is a breakdown of crimes reported in July 2022

·      Violent and sexual offences – 34 offences

·      Criminal damage and arson – 13 offences

·      Anti-social behaviour – 10 offences

·      Shoplifting – 8 offences

·      Public order – 5 offences

·      Vehicle crime – 3 offences

·      Drugs – 2 offences

·      Other thefts – 2 offences

·      Possession of weapon – 2 offences

·      Other crime – 1 offence
