An eight-year-old boy who attends Littletown Primary School has raised £352 for Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E).

Last week, Jas Bala performed a singing recital outside St. Paul's Church on Honiton High Street and the event was a great success.

Jas was joined by his younger twin sisters Stasia and Hania as well as friends from Littletown Primary School.

Jas told Nub News: "It was really fun and it made me happy. I'm glad my friends helped out. I never expected to raise that much money. Hopefully the money will help the hospital to create a nice space for children."

His mum Renata added: "The kids absolutely loved it! They had few friends from school come and support it, which was lovely to see. From what Jas said afterwards, it sounds like it will be a yearly event.

"The kids were so proud of themselves and shocked at how much they managed to raise.

"Well done to everyone who took part, and everyone who supported it."

Jas started playing the piano when he was six and has always enjoyed watching street performers.

He told his mum that he wanted to do a street recital and that he wanted to raise money for the Children's Ward at the hospital because he wanted to make a friendly and inviting ward for poorly children.
