Honiton residents with questions or concerns now have the opportunity to speak with a district council candidate at a regular drop-in session.

Cllr Jake Bonetta, the 18-year-old embracing local politics, is inviting residents to speak face-to-face on any council matters they wish to discuss.

A regular surgery is currently scheduled for Saturday mornings, from 10am, at The Lacemaker's Cafe towards the top end of Honiton High Street.

He told us: "By engaging with residents we can gauge what issues are affecting the town and help to address those either directly, or by putting them to the relevant bodies.

"Not only is this an effective way to run the town, it means that people feel listened to and encouraged to actively participate in the community."
