Churchill Retirement Living is preparing a planning application for a new retirement living development in Honiton, on the site of the Cattle Market on Silver Street.

A public exhibition will be held at Mackarness Hall next to St Paul's Church, 99 High Street, on Tuesday, 3 March 2020 from 5pm to 7pm.

Members of the local community will have the opportunity to see the proposals and meet members of the Churchill team.

Plans for the development will also be available for public viewing through the live consultation link from March 4, accessible via the red button below.

The new Churchill development would provide one and two bedroom apartments specially designed for the over 60s.

Stuart Goodwill, Managing Director of Churchill Retirement Living's in-house Planning consultancy, said: "There is a compelling overall housing need in Honiton, especially for older people.

"Our proposed development will go some way to increasing access to this type of housing for local residents.

"By meeting this rising demand, we can allow older people to downsize and free up under occupied houses in the local area for families.

"The site is excellently located on previously developed land within easy walking distance of the town centre.

"As well as meeting the need for high-quality retirement apartments, the development will bring benefits to the local economy.

"Owners will be within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and other amenities in the town, helping to boost local businesses."
