One boy seriously hurt in a collision near Monkton

Police were called to a two-car collision near Honiton, which left a teenage boy seriously injured and others injured.

South West Ambulance Service and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.

The ambulance and police were called at 3.10pm on Friday 6 May following the crash between a green Toyota Hilux and a black Vauxhall Corsa. The incident took place on the A30 near Monkton.

The driver and passenger in the Corsa were both women in their 30s. They sustained minor injuries. Two children in the car were also injured.

A teenage boy was seriously injured and he was taken to Derriford Hospital, whilst a younger boy was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary with chest injuries, which were not thought to be serious.

The male driver of the second car was not injured.

A stretch of the A30 was closed for 6 hours to allow a forensic investigation to take place.

Roads Policing Team officers are investigating the collision and are appealing for witnesses.
