Among many other things, Honiton High Street has got it covered when it comes anything photography related.

Kate Dixon Photography, located at number 59, offers everything from passport photos, prints and personalised presents.

Honiton Nub News spoke to Kate Dixon about her passion for what she does, why she set her heart on Honiton and her involvement with Totally Locally Honiton.

She said: "I have been photographing weddings and families now since 2011 and can genuinely say that I've loved every single minute.

"I've always loved photography and the way that images can help you remember how you felt during different times in your life, which is perhaps what drew me into the wedding industry, letting couples relive those moments throughout their marriage.

"After years of running the business alongside a full-time admin job, I finally took the plunge at the end of 2018 to go full time.

"It seemed that the natural next step for me was to set up a base somewhere special and after moving to Honiton, I have really come to love the neighbourly environment the town has offered."

The Kate Dixon Photography shop opened at the top of town at the start of December 2019. It is a shop to bring your photos to life; get them printed out, put them in frames or even get them put on to mugs.

You can print photos off your phone, or even make old slides digital - all you need are the slides and a memory stick.

Kate continued: "Since opening my shop, I have had such a warm welcome from the community and now can't imagine opening up anywhere else.

"The sense of community here is really heart-warming and I've been greeted with nothing but warm welcomes."

Speaking about the new Totally Locally Honiton initiative - with the first Fiver Fest event coming soon - Kate added: "I joined the Totally Locally Team because I wanted to do my part in helping the local businesses here and to repay everyone's kindness."
