POLICE UPDATE: Car overturned on the A30 near Honiton

The A30 near Honiton was closed this morning (May 2) due to a serious incident involving a vehicle overturning.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "At approximately 0505hrs this morning, police received a report of a single vehicle collision on the A30 at Pattersons Cross towards Daisymount Cross near Honiton.

"Initial investigations indicated that a small white car had left the carriageway on the nearside and rebounded into the carriageway where it had overturned.

"The male driver was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

"No other vehicles are believed to be involved.

"The road was closed for a number of hours for scene investigation.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
