A new mobile facility offering rapid coronavirus tests has set up on the High Street in Honiton.

The Devon County Council community lateral flow testing bus will be situated at the War Memorial outside St Paul's Parish Church every Monday and Thursday from 11am until 7pm.

A lateral flow test detects the presence or absence of coronavirus from a swab taken from both tonsil areas and one nostril.

The sample is mixed with a buffer solution, which releases and breaks up virus fragments.

When do I get the results?

The results will usually be available within the hour. These tests are aimed at people who do not have Covid-19 symptoms but who may be infectious and could spread the infection to others unknowingly.
