Sidmouth Folk Festival starts in just over two weeks
The Sidmouth Folk Festival starts on Thursday 28 July and it is the first full festival to take place since the start of the pandemic. The festival took place online in 2020 and in 2021 it was a smaller event than usual.
The week-long celebration of music, dance and song takes place in the first week of August every year, and it has been taking place each year since 1955 – making this summer's event the 68th Sidmouth Festival.
This year there will be folk singing, children's art sessions, food and craft stalls, dance workshops, choir and theatre – to name just a few! This is Sidmouth's biggest event, and it is not to be missed.
As always, there will be a wide range of events and activities suitable for all ages and interests. The full schedule is available for downloading here but below is a selection of events to give you a taster of what to expect:
· 28 July: The festival kicks off in Market Square with an informal opening featuring Great Western Morris, Sidmouth Steppers North West Morris, Sidmouth Traditional Mummers and Mrs. Midnight's.
