On June 16, Sarah Scott-Allen, owner of Slades pet store in Honiton took part in a challenge to cycle the distance from London to Brighton to raise money for Honiton Dementia Action Alliance.
Mrs Scott-Allen completed the bike ride with Jean Wood, who also works part-time in the shop and was joined by sister-in-law, Cee Laurie.
"London to Brighton - 54 miles - in the wind and the rain. I recently lost my mum to dementia, so it was good reason to do it," Sarah explained.
"We've done other things in the past to raise money for Honiton Dementia Action Alliance - we did a tombola last year in the shop, which raised a few hundred pounds and we support the annual quiz.
"We wanted to go one further this time though, so that's why we took on the bike challenge.
"It took us 5 hours and 43 minutes, with two stops," she added.
The amount raised is yet to be confirmed, with sponsors still submitting donations.
Chairman of Honiton DAA, Heather Penwarden, said: "This is an amazing achievement, to cycle all the way from London to Brighton in pretty rotten weather conditions - all for our Honiton Admiral Nurse campaign.
"We're extremely grateful to them for supporting us in this way.
"We are also delighted with the range of members within the community who remain on board with our constant need to raise the necessary funds to support dementia sufferers and their families."
