A Honiton mum whose son normally attends Honiton Primary School enlisted the services of The Lacemakers Café to donate a cake to staff at Honiton Primary School continuing to work through the lockdown.

Lea Bamford ordered the cake and Fiona Hanratty of The Lacemakers arranged for an additional 'cake on the house' which she then delivered to the school free of charge.

Lea told Honiton Nub News: "I know how challenging all of the changes will be for the staff to implement and I wanted to show some gratitude to our teachers and staff at my son's school.

"I contacted Lacemakers Café, as I had seen that they were able to deliver goods locally and I was so blown away at their kindness - when I told them that there were lots of staff still working they offered to donate a whole cake so that everyone would get a piece."

Fiona said: "As independent business here in Honiton we are always happy to support the local community."
