The latest news from Honiton Carers Support Group
On Saturday, August 17, 27 carers and their cared for from Honiton Carers Support Group enjoyed the wonderful Andrew Rieu concert "Shall We Dance" at the Beehive.
What a fabulous atmosphere there was that evening. What appeared to be half of Honiton joined in with foot tapping and clapping to this incredible band playing the most wonderful music in a very joyous manner.
The carers all agreed that the evening had really given them a wonderful boost and lifted their spirits.
The outing was made possible by a generous donation made by ex-Carer Nancy Patch from her late husband Thomas Patch's funeral donations. We would like to thank Nancy and her family for this very generous donation.
On Tuesday, August 20, 15 carers and ex-carers enjoyed a guided tour around the Bystock Pools. Thanks goes to Vincent the driver from Trip Community Transport who drove us safely there and back.
Roger and Liz from the Devon Wildlife Trust gave us a wonderful guided walk followed by a talk on the Platform and they illustrated the various plants and inhabitants by showing us some beautiful photographs.
Lovely refreshments awaited us at Kings Garden Centre after the talk before we headed back home after what proved to be a fabulous afternoon.
The trip was was funded by the grant Honiton Carers Support Group received from Dragons Den earlier in the year and the second trip so far. We are already looking much forward to the next one in September, this time to Knighthayes.
