A chance tweet in the summer about places in England that have been yarn bombed (covering objects or structures in public places with decorative knitted or crocheted material, as a form of street art) led to Honiton having it's own mini Christmas yarn bombing in the town.
Following discussions between Heather Penwarden and Caroline Kolek, they agreed to do a small project together to raise awareness of dementia and the importance of memory at Christmas.
Caroline arranged for twelve local knitters and crocheters to each make an item related to Christmas, while Heather produced a card to go with each one.

The handing down of great-granny's figgy pudding recipe, traditions of parlour games on Christmas morning or going to church.
It is also often a time when we remember those dearest family members that are no longer with us.
Around the centre of Honiton, twelve independent businesses have a Christmas-themed item handmade with yarn in the their shop window.
