Earlier this month the YAMZA Food Truck served the people of Honiton for the first time - and it proved extremely popular.
Yamza is the brainchild of Ed McLachlan, of Sidmouth.
Ed became the youngest Certified Master Chef in the world when he was just 24 and has worked in some of the best restaurants around the world. He has also found himself on super yachts and working for the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi.
Ed first started YAMZA in his garage, when he served the people of SIdford during the initial Covid-19 lockdown. His food was so popular he started the food truck business and he has also launched a range of YAMZA sauces.
The food
Your Nub News correspondent headed down to Honiton Family Church on Wednesday to try out YAMZA food for herself - and she wasn't disappointed!
Reflecting his international travels, the available options were all extremely tempting. On offer are shawarmas, rice bowls (with choices of pork belly, flame roasted chicken or shitake mushroom) and delicious sounding loaded fries. He was also offering a lamb shawarma special.
I chose a rice bowl and went for the chicken option, which was £10.50. This is a pretty large bowl with rice at the bottom and on top a selection of chicken cooked in different ways and in different sauces. The presentation was lovely and lots of care and thought had clearly gone into the way it looked as well as the way it tasted.
It included flame grilled chicken, chicken makhani, a sweet kofta curry, pomegranate tzatziki and freshly chopped tomato.
All the ingredients really complemented each other and it was easy to tell Ed is an accomplished chef. What I particularly liked was the fact it had lots of different parts to it and it wasn't just an enormous portion of one topping.
The entire meal was outstanding - all the toppings were delicious! The meal was a cut above over similar food I have tried locally so I would definitely recommend it.
Nub News spoke to Ed about the new service in Honiton. He said: "It's going really well! I'm really enjoying it here. It's been really busy, which is fantastic.
"I'm from Sidmouth so I know Honiton really well and it's great to be serving here. The people are lovely too."
YAMZA Food is outside Honiton Family Church every Wednesday from 4.30pm - 8pm.
You can also find Yamza at Kennaway House in Sidmouth on Thursdays, Moore's Pasties on Dinan Way Trading Estate in Exmouth on Fridays, and the Texaco garage near Exminster on Saturdays.
