Devon and Cornwall Police believe that today's crash on the A30 was a hit and run incident.

The incident on the Eastbound carriageway of the A30, at Viney Lane, was reported to police at around 3.40pm.

A police spokesperson said: "It appears that a vehicle has been forced off the road and it looks at this stage as if another vehicle has made off without stopping."

All lanes of the A30 have now reopened but traffic is still 'very slow' due to the earlier incident.

Traffic is backed up to Honiton for Northbound motorists and to Newcott for those travelling south.
