A new SEN Sports Group which was started in Honiton by local mum of two, Lea Bamford, has received a donation from the book sale initiative at Tesco Honiton.

The group caters for children who have additional needs; providing a safe and inclusive space for both the children and their parents to engage with social activities.

On Friday 25, a cheque bearing the sum of £300 was officially handed over by Cllr Duncan Sheridan-Shaw, who oversees community funding at the store.

Lea Bamford said: "Since I started the SEN Sports Group back in September, we have flourished and found that there is a very high demand for the sessions to continue.

"Due to the complex needs of our group, it's really important to me that we are all highly trained to deliver the best possible opportunities for all of our children attending the sessions.

"This group is for the children, and we value all of them - so it's incredibly important to us that we can keep them engaged week after week.

"I am so very grateful to Duncan, and to Tesco for this generous donation as it means that we are able to extend volunteer training, and buy more generalised sensory equipment."
