Events coming up in Honiton

Friday 24 February: The Beehive Open Day

2pm - 8pm

The Beehive, Honiton's community and arts venue, is inviting the public to its open day.

This event is an opportunity for visitors to discover the diverse range of events and activities the venue offers and meet the staff and volunteers who run the Beehive.

At the Open Day, visitors can enjoy live music from Terry Stacey in the afternoon, enjoy some free samples of the café food, attend free line-dancing sessions with Western Spirit at 3pm & 6pm, participate in genealogy and craft workshops with U3A, and learn about the venue's diverse range of events and classes. 

The following groups will have stands at the event - U3A, Motiv-8 SW, The Arts Society Honiton, Honiton Community Theatre Company, Paula Ferris Pilates, Nostalgic cinema, Honiton Town Council, and The Beehive volunteers. There will also be a craft corner for children, and an opportunity to view the Quarantine Quilt Exhibition in the gallery. 

The Beehive is located on Dowell Street, Honiton.

Saturday 25 February: Art Talk and Demo

Thelma Hulbert Gallery, 11am - 1pm.

Join Thelma Hulbert exhibiting artist Sally Baldwin as she shares an insight into her artwork and process.

Sally will show guests her process and how she conjures her ethereal artworks, giving us some background into her personal art journey, 

£16 or £14 for Thelma Hulbert friends/students. 

Refreshments provided. Suitable for ages 15+.

Saturday 25: Perception Gap

Awliscombe Village Hall 7pm - 9pm.

Perception Gap explores the psychological challenges facing an African refugee-outsider.

Come along for an evening of African Diaspora Performance with storytelling, music and a traditional Syrian buffet. Performed & written by Patrice Naiambana, live sound design / sax / flute by Ric White and traditional Syrian food by Iman Farwan.
