Woz On at Tonvilles? Well, we had a bit of a blank weekend rugby wise.
The gang of three were out early Saturday morning squelching around on the paddy fields, vainly hoping for a miracle.

Hurrah! A win for the Ton - that's the big 'woz on' news this week!
It was a bit touch and go as to whether or not it should have gone ahead given all the rain. Luckily the pitches had had a two week rest so all looked fine on the surface with no "scrum ploughing" patches.

With torrential rain over night and heavy rain all morning the home games at Allhallows were in serious doubt.
However, with brushes, buckets and a full sweat by manager Brendon Findlay and a few helpers - help was at hand to get the games on.

Well, all rather disappointing at the weekend.
I got up early on Saturday morning and joined a packed Honiton Rugby Club to watch England win the world cup final!

Last Saturday, we at the Ton had some mixed fortunes.
Firstly I imagine most of you, like me, watched England dismantle the All Blacks.

For Saturday's league game it was a case of a short trip over to Cullompton, to renew old acquaintances.
Both sides have been in different leagues for many a year and with Cullompton coming down and Honiton going up, this is the first time in long while that the two teams have met on level terms at senior level.

So, what a week I've had! Saturday, watched the England game and was quietly impressed and as I said last week, with Slade you get moments of brilliance mixed in with mistakes, but it turned out fine and we did look good.
I see Eddie's reverted back to Ford for the next game, I guess the call was about mistakes and you can't afford mistakes when the stakes are so high!

Saturday saw Honiton play local rivals Chard and whilst the two towns are 13 miles apart, the county divide means this was the first competitive fixture in many a year.
To be fair both sides have been struggling this season with results but last week visitors Chard pulled a win out of the fire with a last-gasp try.
Borris has done a deal! Guess what - it's another 'sausage trifle' that no one is that keen on.
Some say it's worse that 'Maybot's' last offering!

Honiton travelled to third-placed Bideford on the back of two defeats.
Injuries, which have plagued Honiton this season, were evident with yet again several changes to the starting line-up.
