The Conservative MP for Honiton and Tiverton, Neil Parish, has kept his seat after being re-elected in yesterday's General Election with a majority of more than 24,000 votes.
Mr Parish competed for the seat against Labour's Liz Pole, Liberal Democrat John Timperley, Green Colin Reed and Ukip's Margaret Dennis.
With the big day just weeks away, East Devon District Council has some clever tips to help people in Honiton reduce, refill, reuse and recycle more over the festive period.
A special Christmas Tree mulching event will be taking place in Honiton's Lace Walk car park on Tuesday, January 7, between 8.30am and 11.30am.

A broken down vehicle on the A35 Kings Road Northbound, where the High Street meets Monkton Road has been causing delays to traffic passing through the centre of Honiton today (November 12).
Traffic has now eased off, however road users are being warned that they may still experience tailbacks if they are driving in the area.

East Devon District Council's public art gallery, the Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG), presents the anniversary exhibition featuring the work of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts.

The Disney-themed Christmas light display at Fenny Bridges near Honiton is a widely regarded festive treasure in the local area, bringing untold joy to passers-by.
All lovingly hand-crafted and erected by a man who risks life and limb to bring the colourful characters to life each December.
PHILLIPS - Daniel James (Dano). Sadly passed away on 5th December 2019.
VALLENDER - FRANCIS JOHN. Whose heroic battle with cancer ended in a decisive draw on 29th November 2019.

Awliscombe Primary School Choir has been chosen as one of four contestants for the BBCs Star for Christmas 2019 competition, in the Best Small School category.
Each year, the BBC selects Devon's best Primary School Choirs to sing at their Star For Christmas competition, which will be held at the Riviera International Centre, Torquay on Wednesday 18 December 2019.
