A Honiton Nub News reader has won a £50 Co-op voucher to spend in the store.
Jonathan Salisbury entered our competition and wrote this special message about his father, Richard.
He said: "Four years ago, my father gave me the gift of life.
"I was unwell with renal failure due to a condition called Nail Patella syndrome, which I had inherited from my mum.
"Becoming ill four years ago was a real shock but, after being on dialysis, they made a match between my dad and I and he gave me a kidney.
"We were both very lucky because it worked immediately and we both recovered well.
"My dad and I both lead normal lives now - my dad loves to cycle hundreds of miles around the country and I love travelling, fishing and going to car shows as I am a keen photographer.
"My dad gave me the gift of life and so he's my Father's Day hero."
Jonathan's mother is Carla Salisbury, who used to run Pavot until it closed down in April 2022.
Carla said: "My son and I have three kidneys each as they don't remove kidneys - because it's a bigger operation - and my husband has only one!"
We had a wonderful response to our Father's Day competition. Four vouchers were up for grabs across the Nub News network. The other winners were in Exmouth, Thurrock and Sandbach. Thank you to everyone who took part. We hope all dads enjoyed their special day on Sunday.
