Motorsport enthusiasts will be out in force this weekend for the Wiscombe Park Hillclimb – the first that spectators will be allowed to attend since 2019.

Wiscombe Park is situated in a steep wooded valley, just south of Honiton, and the hillclimb forms one of the rounds of the British Hillclimb Championships, attracting entries from all over the UK.

The hillclimb course, which is 1,000 yards (914 metres) in length, was opened more than 60 years ago and runs national and club motorsport events throughout the year.

A typical event sees a wide range of two, three and four-wheel vehicles competing against the clock, always with competition in a friendly spirit.

Saturday, July 31 will see the practice for the British Hillclimb Championship supported by a full event of inter club-level hillclimbing, followed by the championship events on Sunday, August 1.

Cllr Paul Arnott, leader of East Devon District Council, will be attending as a special guest.

More information and tickets are available at www.wiscombepark.co.uk/events, or spectators can now pay on arrival.
