A well-known TV personality who lives locally to Honiton has taken to social media to share her appreciation of the town and its High Street.

Channel 4's Location, Location, Location presenter, Kirstie Allsopp - who owns a manor house just outside Broadhembury not far from Honiton - is a big fan of the local shops.

A favourite is Fountain Antiques and she loves nothing more than digging out vintage treasures from the Aladdin's cave of historical ware.

Kirstie shared a recent purchase (photo in the image reel above) on her Twitter and Instagram accounts; a hexagonal patchwork quilt, beautifully embroidered with breathtaking detail.

The caption reads: "When lockdown eased and we were able to return to one of my favourite shops, Fountain Antiques in Honiton, I found this, absolutely stunning."

The presenter recently came under fire for a tweet in which she commented on employees working from home during lockdown, saying "if I had an office job I'd want to be first in the queue to get back to work and prove my worth to my employer."

The backlash caused her to have to defend her position and she has since decided to 'take a break' from Twitter and will be channeling her online expression through "the nicer world of Instagram."
