Celebration of Achievement Awards Evening at Honiton Community College

On Thursday 3 October, Honiton Community College held its annual Celebration of Achievement Awards Evening for Years' 7-1.

The evening is a highlight of the academic year with students being recognised for their achievements.

A member of staff at the college commented: "Every autumn we stop to reflect on the previous academic year, and to consider worthy recipients of our college awards - celebrating the highest achiever, and also the most improved for each subject, as well as the overall top student in each subject.

Some of this years' winners include:

Year 7:

Highest Achievement: Hannah Empson in art, geography, mathematics and French

Most Improved: Scarlet Steadman-Hughes BV and history

Pastoral Award: Erin Davey and Tommy Griffiths

Year 8:

Highest Achievement: Harry Chambers in drama and music

Most Improved: Kian Damous food & nutrition and English

Pastoral Award: Maya Lee and Rueben Puleston

Year 9:

Highest Achievement: Mason Doble mathematics, science trilogy

Most Improved: Florence Gray BV, computing science, triple science and English, Callum Bauer drama and triple science

Pastoral Award: Jasmine Bennellick and Joseph O'Toole

Year 10:

Highest Achievement: Tomos Johns English, French and BV

Most Improved: Maddison Lapping art, science trilogy

Pastoral Award: Naomi Pratt and Hayd Stevens

Year 11:

Highest Achievement: Kiera Bonetta in drama, history, science trilogy and English

Most Improved: Talia Peek in food & nutrition and mathematics

The programme is divided into the Lower College (last year's Year 7 and Year 8) and the Upper College (last year's Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11).

Each half began with a musical performance and a drama interlude – allowing students to demonstrate their talents through various productions.
