Popular Honiton entertainer, George Blake, has spoken out about the coronavirus crisis - expressing thanks for our 'amazing NHS' and lamenting a summer of cancelled events.
Former owner of a longstanding Honiton business, AG Signs (before it was bought and moved to Exeter), George now focusses solely on his profession as a magician.
Performing as 'George's Magic', he has been practicing for '40 odd years', so he told Nub News.
When asked about how the current situation was affecting him and his business, he answered: "Obviously everyone's first concern is those affected by Covid-19 and applauding the incredible effort of our frontline workers.
"But it is also a very difficult time for anyone reliant on events for their income. I've been receiving calls left, right and centre from organisers cancelling events I was booked in for over the summer.
"I'm extremely fortunate that I'm able to enjoy time at home, busy in the garden and painting the house, but it is a very worrying time.
"As president of the Exonian Magic Society, a position I've held for 17 years, I'm hoping that our bi-annual convention due to take place in October will be able to go ahead, but who knows.
"I just look forward to when we come out of lockdown and everyone can enjoy getting together again and having parties."
George has also supported See The Future charity for many years, often providing entertainment at the Summer Ball events.
