All East Devon residents should have received their letters from East Devon District Council asking them to apply for the £150 council tax rebate.
Earlier this year the government announced that all households in council tax bands A – D would be eligible for a £150 tax rebate, to help cover the increasing costs of energy.
You are eligible for the £150 rebate if:
· The property is in bands A, B, C or D (or E with a disablement reduction)
· The occupiers are liable for tax at the address and
· The property is your sole or main residence
Over the past few weeks, the council have been in touch via letter with eligible households who were unable to receive their refund directly into their bank account.
75% of households had the £150 paid directly into the bank account because they pay for their council tax via direct debit. The remaining households have been sent a letter from the council which will tell them how to apply.
In order to apply online, you need your letter to hand because it contains your unique access code.
If you are eligible and you have not received your letter by 25 May, please let the council tax know by completing this form.
You will also need your Council Tax Account Number. If you do not have one you can contact the council and they will send you a bill, which will have the number on it.
East Devon District are requesting that people apply online if at all possible, as this will allow the phone lines to be kept free for vulnerable residents and those that don't have access to the internet.
