Honiton's Volunteer 4 all, which is part of TRIP, is hosing a free webinar on Tuesday afternoon to help people use less plastic.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) are challenging residents to try and reduce their plastic usage. For a special week from Monday 6 June to Sunday 12 June, the council are asking people to make one change to their lives to help reduce plastic.

This could be buying condiments in a reusable glass jar instead of a plastic one, buying fruit and vegetables loose rather than in a bag or buying grains in refillable containers.

After the challenge, the council would like to hear your achievements and someone will win a prize.

To support EDDC's initiative, TRIP has organised a webinar and then a discussion.

Sam William's is TRIP's Volunteer Co-ordinator. He told Nub News: "It is amazing that EDDC are taking plastic waste seriously and are putting on these webinars, but the fact it is online will be a major barrier for many people.

"Therefore, by us hosting the webinar on a projector in our hub we can hopefully engage people who would not have otherwise attended.

"Once the webinar has finished, there will be a discussion about our thoughts on the webinar and essentially sharing experiences with each other about how we can help make a difference.

"We are expecting the local environmental groups in Honiton to attend and this should be a great experience for individuals and groups alike."

The free webinar will take place at 122 High Street on Tuesday 24 May at 17.30pm.
