On Wednesday 31 August a motorcycle was seized in Honiton following an incident.

The rider had failed to stop for police when asked. To evade them, he then drove at speed along a public footbath in the area of the Bowling Green.

A statement by Rural East Devon Police said: "The seizure, under the Police Reform Act's section 59/60 powers, serves as a reminder that anti-social and dangerous driving will not be tolerated within our local community.

"Vehicle related offences remains a local priority for 2022 as the Rural East Devon neighbourhood team strive to make our road network (and in this case our public footpaths) a safer place for all."
