On Wednesday 31 August Devon and Cornwall Police arrested eight people as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of Class A and B drugs in Devon.

Nine warrants were carried out in searches across East Devon and North Cornwall.

Various items were seized in the raids, including mobile devices, vehicles, cash and multiple kilos of suspected drugs.

Eight people were arrested. Two men and woman were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug. Additionally, five men were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.

At the time of writing, all the individuals remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Guy Biggar said: "The operation that officers have carried out today forms part of an investigation into the supply of drugs across the force area.

"The warrants were carried out simultaneously under Section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, in order to preserve potential evidence.

"The individuals arrested will be interviewed in due course."

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall police took the opportunity to remind people that drugs and drug related crimes affect more than those people directly involved and they won't be tolerated in our community.

If you would like to report illegal drug use or related crimes, you can contact the police on 101 or alternatively you can contact the charity Crimestoppers https://crimestoppers-uk.org/ anonymously on 0800 555111.
