Parental Minds is hosting a one-off event at The Beehive next week and more than 20 different voluntary and community organisations will be attending.

Parental Minds is a Community Interest Group (CIG) which provides support for families who are struggling with mental health issues. The help could come in the shape of low-cost counselling, group sessions, reading material or signposting to other organisations or help. Parental Minds provide safe, secure wrap-around care to Mental Health Caregivers as well as practitioners and schools.

The CIC was founded in 2019 by Sarah Glover. Sarah has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to mental health - she was named a 'Devon Diamond' by Devon Communities Together and Parental Minds was the winner of the Prince of Wales Award for Devon.

More than 20 organisations which offer support or services to Devon's families and children will be present at the event. This includes the NHS, crisis support, coaching, creative groups such as Youth Arts and Health Trust, Young Devon, Normal Magic, Place2be, Kooth and Papyrus

Vanessa Rossiter of Parental Minds told Nub News: "Parental minds are pleased to be facilitating this one-of-a-kind event.

"This is such a fantastic opportunity for discussion, to work towards genuine partnering and to make those initial contacts. Why not come and see what an amazing choice of support is available to families, children and pupils.

"The Meeting of Minds is an opportunity to bring the statutory and voluntary sectors together to explore new ways of working together to support the wellbeing of families across Devon.

"Since our conception, it has been our aspiration to bring brilliant minds together to help develop pathways of care for the people in our communities who need it most.

"Our organisation is led by lived experience, supported by professionals, and we're proud to have seen ourselves grow and make such strong connections."

The event will take place at The Beehive between 3.15pm and 5.15pm on March 24.

The Beehive Café will also be open for teas and coffees, cake and pizza slices.
