A salon in Honiton is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month.

Samantha Hunter and her colleague Lisa Bonetta opened their first salon together, named HeadOffice, in 2003.

Together, Samantha and Lisa helped the residents of Honiton get ready for their wedding, parties and proms.

The salon was a huge success and when a new location became available, Samantha and Lisa went for it.

In October 2021, after ten years at 70 High Street, HeadOffice moved to New Street and was given a new name - Hunters S&L.

Services available at Hunters S&L include nail art, haircuts, waxing, location weddings and bridal parties.

Samantha's 26-year-old daughter Maddie will be joining the team at Hunters soon, with Lisa helping to train her up.

Samantha told Nub News: "In 2003, I had a dream and I opened HeadOffice. Lisa and I have made some good - and bad - decisions and learnt to ignore the bad and concentrate on the good.

"After the pandemic we were so busy returning from 34 weeks of lockdowns, but it meant we had time to plan our next adventure.

"If there is one thing I have learned from my 20 years of self-employment, it is that to survive in the salon industry you have to go over and above, and that is what we have always done.

"Lisa and I love our salon life, with its stories of challenges and deceptions, gossip and gloats. I'm cutting the hair of adults who came in as little toddlers, which is so nice.

"Thank you one and all for using us, adding to our lives and hearts.

"This trade is in our blood, our sweat and our very achy bodies, but we can still produce excellent work for more than 40 hours a week - and we love every minute of it!"

Hunters S&L is located at 1 Dorset Place, New Street, Honiton.
