A popular Honiton bakery is soon to move to a new location within Honiton.

James' Patisserie & Sandwiches will move to where JK's Bistro used to be, which is on New Street.

Selling cakes - including more unusual ones such as Toblerone Cookie Cups and Ferrero Roche Cupcakes - donuts, sandwiches and sausage rolls, the café opened nearly eight years ago.

The move will enable James Gardiner, the owner of the café, to prepare food in a larger kitchen and expand his menu.

It will provide more space for customers to sit inside the café and enjoy their cakes or sandwiches.

James has also secured a licence to offer outside seating for customers.

New additions to the menu will be added thanks to the improved kitchen, including jacket potatoes with vegetarian chilli.

James spoke to Honiton Nub News about the move: "We are moving due to the fact we have grown the business.

"We provide cakes and pastries for The Pig, cafes in Lyme Regis, Cranbrook, Exeter and Woodbury, so I need more space to bake.

"The new place is bigger and gives me a separate kitchen. We will also have room to expand with tables so people can sit inside and enjoy our food.

"This is my last week in the current shop, which I've been in for seven years, so it's going to be emotional!"

James will close his High Street café at the end of of this week and reopen at 7 New Street on 14 August.
