As part of Operation Rudolph Honiton, over 20 volunteers helped prepare and deliver nearly 80 hot meals on Christmas Day.

Isolated members of the Honiton community were still able to enjoy a special meal, despite the The Beehive not able to host their usual Christmas lunch event.

A spokesperson said: "When we realised that the traditional meal at The Beehive was unable to go ahead due to the pandemic, it was decided to provide a take away delivery service instead.

"Whilst not the same as a sit down meal, it was still a way to reach some of the most isolated in our community, including families unable to cook on the big day.

"This was only possible because of the amazing volunteers who gave up their Christmas day! As well as generous donations from Mr and Mrs Dalrymple and staff at East Devon District Council and the Honiton Hospital Occupational Therapist team who all forwent their secret Santa to donate to Operation Rudolph.

"It's an example of key workers stepping up again to help their community!"
